ÉRATO MEDITERRANEO X CURÙ SKIN

Pantelleria was created from the desire to tell a story of the confines and contrasts of this unique Sicilian island in the evocative Érato style.

It does not fit neatly into any one category — it is not a magazine, it is not a travel guide and it is not a photo book. We chose to simply call it Una Guida in Memoria Poetica or, A Guide in Poetic Memory. It is the memory of a summer filled with the beauty of simplicity: wine, diving into the sea, dancing and hair drying in the wind.

We hope this work inspires you. For those who have yet to discover Pantelleria, it is an invitation to plan an unforgettable journey. For those who already know it, it offers a way to relive its magic with dreamy nostalgia, from the comfort of your home.

Inside, you will find contributions from young, talented Italian and international photographers and artists who share a deep connection to this land, suspended between Italy and Tunisia. Their enthusiasm and creativity have shaped this project into a celebration of art, culture, and humanity.

Who is Érato?

We are Claudia and Sofia, though on Instagram we are known as ératomediterraneo. Our project stems from a long-standing friendship, united by a shared passion for discovery and a constant search for Mediterranean-inspired emotions and beauty. It is a memory, not just photographic, shaped by ordinary journeys that gave rise to extraordinary memories—memories that became thoughts, words, and images we wanted to share.

Between a road trip through the rolling hills of Val D’Orcia, a summer in the capital of Sicilian Baroque, and a sunset in Puglia with sea urchins and sparkling house wine, érato was unknowingly born in our hearts.

Guided by what enchants our senses and brings them together in harmony, érato seeks to lose itself—and invite others to do the same—amid the villages, coves, mountain lodges, museums, and trattorias. It celebrates everything that, as Italians, we are incredibly fortunate to call our artistic and cultural heritage, along with the fruits of creativity, passion, and dedication being cultivated today.
